That’s because you’re combining the best of both worlds here, with an AMD CPU and an Nvidia GPU working in tandem to produce an incredible final result.
In this test, the 1440p display and RTX 3080 GPU blew us away with impressive handling of High and Ultra settings across a variety of games. We were especially impressed by how much power was available given the light, slim chassis. The 14-inch screen emphasises the power on offer, but we did wish for a slightly larger screen at times, and having all those components packed in, it did get a little bit warm. We did like the 1440p / 165Hz display pairing and given the size, it’s easy to be blown away by the overall quality. You are paying a little more for some of the most in-demand components on the market right now, but you’ll certainly get your moneys worth after a little tinkering in some heavier game titles, we were able to push one to near-consistent 60fps on maximum settings in 1440p resolution, which is absolutely incredible.

For a long time, 14 inch version of this Asus laptop was our top gaming pick. It did almost everything right, and we weren’t sure Asus would ever be able to replicate its success. But, somehow, the company managed to make the G14 a little bigger and more importantly a lot better. As a result, it has created the ROG Zephyrus G15, a fantastic gaming laptop.

But you’re not sacrificing any performance for that portability: it’s powered by the best mobile chips AMD and Nvidia have out there, and it has a fast 165Hz QHD (1440p) display. Together, these components are capable of handling even the most demanding games. The panel also has excellent colour reproduction, so all your games will look brilliant.
But it’s not just the gaming; the G15 is fantastic in almost every other way as well. The audio has a six-speaker array with strong percussion and bass, the keyboard and touchpad have a nice click, the port selection leaves little to be desired, and the battery can last for an impressive eight and a half hours.
